Healthy Body - Healthy Mind


This week we are discussing what it is to be healthy. Whole body healthy from the tips of your toes to the ends of the hair on your head!

We are all aware of eating healthy and looking after our physical well-being.  But how well do we look after the other parts of our well-being?  


Questions

1.What makes you happy. Not just surface happy but deep down happy, when you smile inside? When someone courage's me.



2. How do you deal with set-backs or when things don't go your way? How can you make sure you deal with them in a positive way? I just say i can do it next time. Or win next time.



3. Courage, grit, determination are words we often hear in class. Define these words and give an one example of how you have shown one of these.Courage the ability to do something. you can do it. i courage you.



4. In your opinion, what makes a great friend, one you want to keep forever? in my opinion is when someone courage's you never giving up on you.



5. In your life who is the main person you turn to for support? What makes them special? My mum because she never gets mad and she's always cheering me on.



6. Are there people at your school you could turn to for support if you needed it? Who are they? What makes them a good person to go to? yes because when ever we get in trouble. We just say funny jokes to cheer us back.



7. How does your family support you with your learning and other activities you do at school? Why do you think it is important they are involved in your schooling? By supporting  me in activity.



8. Being active is important for your body.  What do you do to keep fit and active? So you carry on your journey.




9. How can you show support to a friend or someone who is not happy?By cheering him up.

What else......


Right across Aotearoa in every classroom children are busily engaged in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics learning.   This happens in every school and every classroom. We are on a mission to find out 'What else' goes on in your wonderful schools!




Questions:

Q1: Tell us a little bit about your School. What are it's values, what do you like about it and what makes it different to other schools?
The school values are called REP respect excellence and perseverance.

Q2: Out of reading, writing and maths what is your favourite subject and why? What do you like about it? My favourite is Maths i like it because i'm good at it and i enjoy doing it.



Q3: During a normal school day what else do you do (apart from Reading, Writing and Maths)? I have Arts on Wednesday.



Q4: What is your favourite thing to do in class (apart from Reading, Writing and Maths)? Why? Doing arts because i enjoy doing it.



Q5: Does your school run clubs, groups etc? List some of them. Youth town basketball and more.



Q6:  If you were able to add one more club or group, what would it be and why? Drama because i have been wanting to do drama for a long time.



Q7: What cultural/sporting/music opportunities exist at your school?  Do you take part in them? What do you enjoy about them. no there every everything normal at are school.

Family

Week 4 is all about family. Our families play a huge part in who we are and who we will become.

Questions:

Q1. Who makes up your family? What position were you born in your family? Oldest? Youngest? Middle? What's it like being that position? I'm the Youngest.



Q2. What is special about your family? What do you love about your family? Well its my family i love everything about it.



Q3. Would you prefer to be in a big family or small family? Why? Biggest so i can drive and spent money.



Q4. Do you have any family traditions? (Holidays, fun activities etc) If you don't what do you think would be a cool tradition to start? Each two year we go back to India for holiday.



Q5. How often do you spend time with your grandparents? Do you think it's important to spend time with them? Why or why not?Not even once they live back in India



Q6. What's the best piece of advice a family member has given you? Never give up on your dreams.



Q7. Share a story about your family. What's something interesting or funny we can learn about them?There good at making stories.



Q8. Kid President has a list of 10 things every Mum needs to know. What would you add to the list? Always being caring and nice.



Q9. Just for fun! Make a poem, sentence or story using these 3 words: Kind, Proud, Hero.

Blogger Prompt - Week 3, Term 3,

New Zealand is blessed with a whole host of talented sportsmen and sportswomen.  However we often only hear about a few sports in the media.

At our school sports is a big thing, this week we want to look into what sports you like and what makes you a great sportsmen or sportswomen.





Questions:

1.What are the most important attributes that a sportsperson should posses? Able to run really fast.

2. What are the benefits of playing in a sports team? There are a lot of them.


3. Should playing in a sports team be compulsory for children at primary school? Why or why not? Yes so learn more about the rules.


4. How do you cope with failures on the sports field? I don't really care I try again next time to win.


5. Children often get hurt or injured playing sports. Should children be allowed to play risky contact sports when there is a risk of being hurt? Why or why not? The chance of getting hurt is really low though.


6. What has been the most important life skills you have learnt playing sport and why? Running and throwing because most game evolve running and throwing and catching.

7. If you could choose a New Zealand sportsperson to have breakfast with who would it be and why? Richie mcaw because he is a famous person.



8.How does sport at school help you with your learning in other subjects? To be able to cooperate with your friend.

9.What is your favourite sport to play and why? My favourite sport is soccer I like it because i good at it.

The Māui dolphin
One of the world's smallest and rarest dolphins. An endemic sub-species closely related to the Hector's dolphin, it is now found only in the shallow coastal waters off the west coast of the North Island. In 2012, it was estimated that between 48 and 69 mature animals remained.


Opinion, Facts and Thoughts

 



1. What are some native animals to New Zealand that are in threat of extinction? I think kiwi are.



2. How do we protect and look after our native animals in NZ? we put them in a zoo



3. Where are you most likely to see New Zealand’s native animals? in the wild
In the wild.


4. Many people believe that to save animals from extinction they should be bred in zoos? Do you agree/disagree with this statement and give one reason why. I agree so they don't get extinction.



5. When zoo bred animals are released back into the wild there can be serious problems. What might some of these problems be?



6. Zoos are …...a life sentence for animals. What do you think this means?
There a life saver.


7. Why do you think animals in the wild die before they reach maturity?
Because people hunt them down.


8. The only way to save our endangered animals is to study and protect their habitat. Why? So we learn more about them before they get extinction.



9. Should we have zoos or wildlife parks? Why? Zoo because wild park they can escape.



10. If you could chose one animal to study what would it be and why? Panda's because there Its an animal I don't know much about.

This week's topic is about your creativity, passion, talent and inventive thinking.


1. What are your interests, talents or passions?
My interest are sports and drama. 


2. How do you get to learn about your interests in the classroom? Give us an example. By playing with youth town.



3. Do you think it's important for children to have time each week to learn about something that they're interested in? Why? Yes because I basically do it every day.



4. What is the world's most important invention so far? How does it affect your life? Technology its were i put everything important.



5. The Kid President wanted to invent a Catuum Cleaner. What would you like to invent to make the world more awesome? A way to travel to Country easier.



6. "In 2006, Facebook was in its infancy, Twitter was being launched, and nobody had iPhones." Twelve years on, the world is a very different place, and so is the workplace. What jobs do you think there will be in 10 years time and what jobs won't exists in 10 years time. Make a list. Garbage cleaners and the people Who wont exist are air boat.


7. Inventive thinking requires taking risks, being curious and thinking skills. How do you do this in the classroom? By planing everything first.



8. Is creativity important? How can we encourage creativity in the classroom? Yes it is really important.

9.Sometimes we get stuck with our learning and have to problem solve. What does good problem solving look like? By thinking really hard about something.
